The details that make the difference
The art of shirts linked to the Neapolitan tradition.
Our shirts carry with them, in every production phase, the trace of tailoring work, from the design to the cut, from the seams to the hand-embroidered buttonholes to the thick and shiny mother-of-pearl buttons to give that added value that a machine, however precise, is not manages to give.
THE MEASURE OF QUALITY
A tailored shirt has fundamental steps that start from the identification of the customer’s measurements, then passing through the choice of modeling and fabrics. Once these operations have been determined, the small or large changes in wearability and habits in the customer’s movements are shown on a standard pattern.
HAND BUTTONHOLE
The buttonhole is a functional element but also a habit of “tailoring” since it is an unmistakable sign when a hand is made with the best quality of silk. This element serves to ensure a stable closure between the different parts of the fabric and must be perfect and precise. In the world of tailoring embroidering the sun is a real example of stylistic art, which through the skilful movement of the hands manages to create a unique product with its typical hand stitching defined as a “denterina” or made in order to avoid the fraying of the fabric as the button passes and preventing the buttonhole from flooding, deforming the buttonhole and causing the button to come out.
SLEEVE
The sleeve is a very delicate stitch and when it is sewn by hand it gives greater elasticity to the fabric in the part of the shirt most subject to friction. Slightly curled, to allow maximum freedom of movement.
GYROMANICA MOVED
In the made-to-measure shirt the assembly is different: firstly the sides of the body are sewn and closed and only then is the sleeve mounted and most of the times the sleeve seam is moved forward with respect to that of the sides to obtain a better “fall” of the same to allow maximum comfort and movement which for industrial assembly is impossible.
HAND BEAM
The Travetto, completely embroidered by hand, is the seal that stops the fake sleeve is a unique element that distinguishes the tailored shirt giving it discreet refinement and preciousness.
SEWING A LILY BUTTON OR A HEN PAW
The button is rigorously made of Australian mother-of-pearl and is hand-sewn using the method called lily or crow’s feet. Such a type of stitching
occurs by firmly fastening the button on one side to leave it swinging on the other, thus facilitating its insertion in the buttonhole.
The Bottone a Giglio is not only synonymous with resistance over time but it is also an element of particular beauty and singularity.
